Salary:             £22,000 - £25,000 p/a (dependent on experience)

Location:         Home based within the UK

Reporting to:   Head of Communications

Employment:   Fixed Term until March 2023 (with the potential to be extended in line with grant funding)

Job Purpose:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated marketing and communications assistant to support the delivery of our business strategy. The role will suit a recent graduate or someone who has been working in a similar role. You will have the opportunity to work with a small team of experts on high profile and complex projects, whilst building your skills and experience in all aspects of marketing and communications activity across all channels.

This is a highly visible role that gives great hands on experience in a rapidly growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of BlueLight Commercial’s website (using Umbraco Content Management System) to ensure content is relevant and up to date.
  • Manage social media channels, creating monthly content planners and curating content from across BlueLight Commercial where appropriate. React to opportunities and respond to enquiries.
  • Use analytic tools (for example Google Analytics) to create reports to evaluate key metrics, monitoring trends and the effectiveness of activity on website, social media, and CRM marketing campaigns. Suggest updates and improvements to optimise user experience, boost awareness, drive engagement and traffic (SEO/PPC).
  • Engage with colleagues in categories to develop, engaging relevant content, crafting accurate, on brand copy that supports business activity (infographics, email campaigns, marketing collateral, social media posts/video/blogs)
  • Manage the delivery of campaigns across multiple channels, including web, email, social and PR.
  • Utilise email marketing CRM software to develop campaigns to communicate with internal and external audiences. Help with CRM administration.
  • Develop case study library, working with internal teams to encourage referrals and contacting potential case studies to build a story.
  • Assist with organising internal and external events and shows both online (webinars) and offline (trade shows).
  • Production and maintenance of the communications calendar.
  • Oversee the management, administration and development of the intranet.
  • Research new tools for stakeholder engagement for example forum functionality from Knowledge Hub.

Essential Knowledge and Experience

  • Working knowledge of
    • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams)
    • Adobe suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier Pro, Acrobat),
    • Google Analytics,
    • Website Content Management Systems,
    • Social Media Platforms (in particular LinkedIn and Twitter)
  • Marketing /communications experience
  • Experience creating content – graphics/video
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tools (Google Analytics)

Desirable Knowledge and Experience

  • Marketing qualification (CIM or degree)
  • Paid media campaign management
  • Event management support experience
  • CRM marketing tools
  • Degree in relevant subject

Along with a salary of £22 - £25k you will also receive a 12% pension contribution and 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays. BlueLight Commercial will also provide you with the equipment needed to carry out your role at home such as a top of the range laptop, mobile phone, monitor, desk and chair etc.
