Supporting blue light services with operational requirements
Our expert team is establishing a suite of national frameworks to support the next generation of National Uniform, supporting the operational needs of police officers whilst driving standardisation, improving contract management, increasing supply chain resilience and optimising garment quality.
We work across all areas, including supporting specification development and working closely with procurement teams and operational officers to ensure equipment and uniform is operationally sound and compliant with relevant EN, HO and ISO standards.
Our Headwear and Accoutrements, Body Armour and All Climate Shirt frameworks are now live and we are actively working to ensure continuity of supply and growth in the supplier base.
We provide advice and guidance to stakeholders throughout the commercial lifecycle. We provide our customers with compliant frameworks which have undergone due diligence and continue to be contract managed centrally for the forces, providing one voice to the market on behalf of policing.
During the procurement stage we ensure wearer trials are conducted where necessary with operational officers, to establish confidence in the goods and services we are providing through our frameworks.
On a monthly basis our working group brings together uniform personnel from each force. We provide updates on central BlueLight Commercial projects and forces share their feedback or raise any concerns or areas where we can support. If you are not part of the working group but would like to be involved email us to register.
Below you will find some of the areas we can assist with, many of which link to individual pages which will provide additional information. If you can’t find what you need, or would like to speak to us, please email our team (uniform@bluelight.police.uk).
