Digital Forensic Services Dynamic Purchasing System

The digital forensic services Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) is available to police forces and law enforcement agencies to tender their digital forensic service requirements.

The key objective of the DPS is to support the fragile digital forensic marketplace with potential untapped capacity which is extremely important in the support of the criminal justice system.

Scope of contract

The DF DPS delivers a compliant route to market for a comprehensive digital forensics services provision that supplies a range of services sufficient to fulfil the forensic requirements of all crime types and incidents in accordance with the Codes of Practice and Conduct.

The suppliers conduct examination of Items, attend scenes where necessary, providing interpretations of results in accordance with the requirements of the Authority and the Criminal Justice System. They also provide a range of other services including cell site analysis, comparison work, training and method validation.

The DF suppliers can complete a standardised Streamlined Forensic Reporting Template (SFR)  a process designed to minimise unnecessary work and reduce unnecessary delays by focusing on the actual issues in a case, as part of overall prosecution case management.

The digital exhibits that can be involved are for example but not limited to:
