Using a BlueLight Commercial framework is a ready-made solution, saving both time and money as we have already carried out due diligence and supplier negotiation. This means customers get best value through our centralised buying power and can be reassured all suppliers, and products, will comply with required legislative and technical standards. Rigorous operational testing has been carried out to enable customers to buy with confidence.

We maintain the strategic relationships with suppliers, whilst the customer maintains control of operational contract management. We will oversee the implementation and onboarding of the contract, act as a single point of contact and provide an escalation route for any performance issues.

 

Scope of contract

This contract provides Police and Fire and Rescue Services access to Omnissa’s suite of products at preferential public sector pricing. Products available through this agreement include:

• Omnissa Workspace One (Previously called VMware Workspace One) is used as a comprehensive digital workspace platform designed to enhance law enforcement operations through Digital Workspace tools. The Workspace One Platform offers UK Policing device management, Application Management, Identity Management and analytics all via One Single Platform.  This is used by some frontline officers to access critical services, complex use cases for in vehicle device management, border and law enforcement access to critical applications.  It can be managed via a wide range of devices including desktops, mobiles, tablets, handhelds, wearables etc. 

 

• Omnissa Horizon (Previously called VMware Horizon) Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) features are designed to provide users with a secure, flexible, and efficient ways to access desktop and virtual applications remotely.  UK Policing currently utilises Horizon to access critical services as well as digital forensics platforms securely. Horizon is also used for accessing remote desktops for frontline officers who may also require access to critical systems remotely.
