Announcing the next stage in the commercial development of the Healthcare in Custody work stream
Friday, October 1, 2021
Following the success of the Healthcare in Custody market engagement which took place in July, BlueLight Commercial is delighted to announce the next stage in the commercial development of the Healthcare in Custody work stream, which will result in the development of a new Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) to be launched in 2022.
Approximately £21m per year is spent on healthcare in custody services each year across the 43 police forces in England and Wales and every year around 7 new tenders are issued.
The new DPS will provide a framework to allow the forces to engage with the market and suppliers and will follow on from the work we have done with forces in developing a national standardised specification and KPI’s, contract management and social value toolkits.
A number of forces have already gone to market with the standardised specification including City of London Police, Cumbria Police and Leicestershire Police with more forces utilising the standards in new tenders over the Autumn. The DPS will provide forces with a dynamic framework of suppliers both at a national and local level.
BlueLight Commercial will be working in collaborating with forces over the Autumn to develop the DPS and has established a national working group made up of representatives from several forces, the Forensic Capability Network and NHS experts. The first meeting will be held in October.
For more information or to get involved in the national working group please contact Claire.cuttel@bluelight.police.uk.
Regional face to face supplier roadshows will take place in the new year to provide an opportunity for suppliers to fully engage in the process.
