BlueLight Commercial launches the Legacy Media Digitisation Framework
Friday, November 7, 2025
BlueLight Commercial is pleased to announce the launch of the Legacy Media Digitisation Framework — a new route to market designed to help law enforcement organisations digitise historic analogue media.
For many years, UK Policing, law enforcement agencies, and the Home Office have relied on formats such as VHS tapes, audio cassettes, and microfiche to store interviews and other evidential material. Accessing this information can often take several days, as records must be requested, located, and physically delivered to investigators — delaying case progression and reducing efficiency. In addition, ageing analogue media is at risk of degradation, potentially compromising valuable evidence over time.
The new framework provides a structured, efficient solution for converting analogue evidence into secure digital formats. Comprising six lots, it covers a wide range of media types — from audio cassettes through to microfiche — and offers both on-premise and outsourced digitisation services. Options are available with or without Digital Evidence Management Software (DEMS) integration, depending on the requirements of the contracting authority.
The framework is available to law enforcement organisations across England and Wales, including Police Forces, the National Crime Agency, and the Home Office.
